Dr. Kshipra Aphale is an experienced consulting ophthalmic surgeon practicing in Thane city, near Mumbai (Bombay), India. She completed her Master of Surgery (MS) in Ophthalmology in 1994. She worked in various hospitals as an eye surgeon. She attends numerous national and international conferences and workshops. In the year 2006 she completed graduation in law (LL. B.) She has undergone special training in cataract surgeries including phaco-emulsification, retinal laser (for diabetic retinopathy), LASIK, Keratoplasty (cornea transplant) and contact lenses. Dr. Kshipra is in practice since 1995 and she runs a well equipped, independent eye hospital in Thane named Dr. Aphale's Eye Hospital. Dr. Kshipra performs a number of surgeries in her hospital - including cataract extraction, glaucoma, squint correction, ptosis, Dacryocystorhinostomy among several others. Dr. Kshipra performs LASIK surgery for spectacle number removal, phaco surgery for cataract extraction without stitches and with insertion of foldable and unifocal or multifocal lenses. She also performs does laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy, YAG laser capsulotomy for some 'after cataract' issues and various other surgeries. Dr. Kshipra has held teaching positions in various institutions, and was instrumental in setting up an ophthalmic department in at least three hospitals including two charitable hospitals. Dr. Kshipra has worked and initiated several charity camps and has helped hundreds of poor patients in respect of diagnostic and operative problems. She has presented a number of papers on phaco and LASIK at different forums. Dr. Kshipra has, to her credit, helping difficult cases in many complex eye problems, such as acanthamoeba keratitis, complicated traumatic cataracts, recurrent iridocyclitis, and diabetic eye problems. Dr. Aphale is known for her dedication to work, sincerity and commitment to the patients and excellent surgical skills.
