Dr. Aphale's Eye Hospital is fully equipped with all the necessary machines needed for routine eye examination and treatment including surgeries.

Diagnostic equipment

1. 5 step magnification slit lamp which gives excellent magnified image of eye in good illumination and does not allow even minute findings go undetected. The image is displayed on a flat TV screen so that the relatives of the patient can also see the image of the eye and better understand the problem in the eye.
   
2. Nidek make laser delivery slit lamp for retinal examination.
   
3. Direct and indirect ophthalmoscope for detailed retinal eye examination
   
4. Japanese make retinoscope specially useful for paediatric eye check up
   
5. Compact chair unit to accommodate the equipment and to seat the patient comfortably
   
6. Nidek make "A" scan biometer for accurate calculations of intra-ocular lens power
   
7. Tonometer which gives accurate record of the eye pressure to check for glaucoma

Surgical equipment

1. Karl Zeiss make operating microscope which provides great magnification with depth perception during operations
   
2. Alcon (US) make phaco-emulsifier with top class fluidics that ensures anterior chamber stability during cataract surgery. The machine is equipped with state of the art powerful ultrasonic probe capable of breaking any type of cataract - hard or soft. This machine is also capable of performing the function through a 1.5 mm incision.
   
3. Facility for YAG laser for capsulotomy is made available
   
4. Frequency doubled Nd YAG laser for diabetic retinopathy is made available
   
5. LASIK - excimer laser is accessible.
   
6. Cryosurgey unit available.
