The front part of this eyeball that is cornea is only transplanted to the blind person whose blindness is only because of corneal opacity.

There is a great need of such eyeballs as there are long waiting lists of such blind persons. There is no age bar for eye donation. Persons using glasses or contact lenses or who have underwent cataract or retinal surgery can also donate eyes But if person died because of cancer, infection, AIDS, hepatitis, burns then his eyes may be taken out but can not be used for transplantation, as it is dangerous to the recipient but can be used for research purpose.

Transplantation surgery will be done by expert surgeons free of cost.
